Alvin Nels Nelson, 91, of Togo, MN passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Cook, MN.

Alvin was born on the family homestead where he made his home until entering the Cook Care Center in January of 2017. Alvin attended Togo Elementary School through 8 ^th grade, then graduated from Grand Rapids Farm School. He served honorably for 2 years in the US Army as Military Police, where he was stationed in Germany guarding missiles. After the army, Alvin attended Ely Junior College and then on to Bemidji College where he earned a BA in business. Alvin worked at several jobs but spent most of his life in the logging business with his younger brother Kenneth Nelson. Alvin enjoyed his many trips to Alaska where Kenneth now lives.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; Nels and Anna (Belanger) Nelson; brothers: Arthur and Arvid Nelson; and brother-in-law Truman Lund.

He is survived by his sister Esther Lund of Effie, MN; brother Kenneth Nelson of Willow, Alaska; sister-in-law Donna Nelson of Hibbing, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
