On Monday, July 27, 2026, Arthur Michael Ratai passed away peacefully into the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ, at the Cook Care Center in Cook, Minnesota, after a short stay in the Cook Hospital and the Cook Care Center. 

“Mickey” was born on September 12, 1973, in Virginia, Minnesota. He was a member of the class of 1961 at Virginia Minnesota and enjoyed many gatherings with his classmates over the years. He graduated from Greenway High School. He was a Navy Veteran and was retired after 30 years at St. Louis County Road and Bridge Division at Linden Grove. He married Sharon (Boutto) on August 23, 1969. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon, and their three children: Steven (Stacey) Ratai and their children, Regan (Eric Bergman) Ratai, and Kaden (Brielle Hujanen) Ratai: Christine (Todd) Sarazine and their children, Kaitlin (Sam) Moes, and their daughter Greyson Braxton (Lauren Arvila) Sarazine: and Michael (Kelly) Ratai and their children, Logan Ratai, Lucas Ratai, Jace Ratai, Michael (Heidi) McClain, Brianna McClain, Jessica McNiff and her daughters Rileigh and Charleigh, and Ian (Alexis) McNiff and their 3 daughters, Adrian, Aria and Avie. Micky is also survived by his brother Joe (Yvonne) Ratai, sister Mary Joy Murray, sister Liz (Peter Kelly) Ratai, and their families; brother-in-law Gary (Barb) Boutto, children of Dennis (Sharon) Boutto and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Klara Ratai, father and mother-in-law Arthur and Lorraine Boutto, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Sharon Boutto, brother-in-law Robert Murray and niece Teresa Rajala.

Mickey is now free of the pain of cancer, years of type one diabetes and chronic back pain.

Mickey’s Life was filled with many happy times with family and friends. Line dancing was his passion, and watching MN Wild, MN Twins, and MN Vikings brought joy to his days of retirement. Enjoying his grandchildren and great-granddaughter Greyson, were highlights of his days. Mickey will be forever missed.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 1-3pm at Mlaker Funeral Home, Cook, MN.
