Barbara A. Hannine, 78, Cook, formerly of Linden Grove Township, passed away at the Cook Hospital on Sunday, September 20, 2015.
She was born Barbara Ann MacClanathan on January 18, 1937, in Bigfork, the daughter of Robert and Clarice (Johnson) MacClanathan. She grew up and lived in Craigville, Bigfork, Effie and International Falls. Barb married Lenard Hannine on September 18, 1954 in Linden Grove Township. They raised their family and lived in Linden Grove for 46 years. She worked at Hill Wood Products for many years and later cleaned at several area businesses. Barb was a member of the Cook VFW Auxiliary. Lenard had big vegetable gardens with Barb doing the canning chores. She worked and solved crossword puzzles with a passion and enjoyed reading. She and Lenard lived at the Pioneer Building in Cook for nearly 8 years, and she had been residing at Spectrum Carefree Living in Cook before passing away at the Cook Hospital. The last 8 years were filled with a joy of love of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lenard (Dec. 11, 2007); a daughter, Jean Hannine (Oct. 22, 2012), and a granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Hannine (Jan. 8, 1988).
Barb is survived by her 6 children: Barry (Shirley) Hannine of Burnsville, MN, Elliott (Eva) Hannine of Linden Grove, Dane Hannine of Stacy, MN, Jon (Jessica) Hannine of Linden Grove, Denise Namchek of Agana, Guam, and Verna (John) Manley in Connecticut; 2 brothers, John (Nancy) MacClanathan and Donald MacClanathan, both of Portland, OR; 2 sisters, Eleanor Pearson of Balsam Lake, MN and Betty Puller of Littlefork, MN; numerous loved grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and friends.
SERVICES : Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 10 th , at Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook, where a gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Rev. Arthur Dale will be the officiant. A reception in Barb's honor will be
