BeDaBun E Gesis "Sunrise Song" Chosa

BeDaBun E Gesis "Sunrise Song" Chosa, 37, of Minneapolis passed away on unexpectedly on November 1, 2016 in Minneapolis, at the MCTC, the college that he loved.

He was born on May 7, 1979 in Bemidji, MN the son of Judith "Heart Warrior" Chosa and Malcolm McDonnough.

Sunrise was raised in the middle of the Boundary Waters Canoe area. He made a paper implement he wore on his wrist when he was 5 years old that demonstrated how air lifted planes off the ground. Sunrise was a very gifted and brilliant young man who had great knowledge of the Boundary Waters natural environment and the breakdown of its science. He had furthered his education at Vermilion Community College in Ely and was certified as a Wilderness responder, most recently he had been studying science and chemistry at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. He was a gifted artist making beautiful pottery, writing poetry, and drawing unique cartoons. He loved gardening and spending time in the outdoors where he found great peace.

He is survived by his parents, Judith "Heart Warrior" Chosa of Nett Lake, and Malcolm McDonnough of England; 3 daughters, Roseblossom, Lila and Violet Chosa of Nett Lake; 1 brother Shaun Chosa of Ely; along with many cousins and friends.

SERVICES: Traditional services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Boise Forte Government and Services Center in Nett Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
