Bernard "Bernie" Soger
Bernard C. Soger, 53, Orr passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at his residence of natural causes.
Bernie was born on January 25, 1963 in Virginia, the son of Larry and Helga (Christensen) Soger. He grew up in Orr where he resided all his life. He graduated from the Orr High School Class of 1981. He served in the Army. He followed the family tradition of working for the Railroad. He was employed for many years with the Loram Maintenance of Way Railroad, retiring due to health concerns, and later worked for a plastics company in Duluth. He married Loralee Tennant on April 3, 2009 in Virginia.
Bernie was a member of the Orr American Legion Post #480. He loved flying airplanes, especially his Quicksilver utlralight air craft. He had a great appreciation of the outdoors, whether it was gardening or fishing. He had a big heart for his pet cats and dogs. He was smart and willing to tackle any fixing project. He will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a half brother Alan Leiding.
Bernie is survived by his wife and longtime partner Loralee; 1 daughter Ashley Rose Lossing; and one sister Lorie Schuler.
