Beulah "Boots" (Leding) Cerar
Beulah "Boots" Cerar, 94, Eveleth, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing.
Born Beulah Leding on September 6, 1920, in Cook, to Lars and Christina (Persson) Leding, she grew up in Cook where she graduated from high school. She married Joseph "Joe" Cerar on December 16, 1947, in Little Falls, Minnesota. After marriage, the couple moved to Eveleth, where they lived and raised their family. Joe was the longtime, well known announcer and engineer for WEVE radio in Eveleth. Beulah was affectionately known as "Boots" since her childhood. She was a committed member of United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth. She and Joe enjoyed antiquing and garage sales- bringing numerous items home for Joe to fix or recondition. Boots was an excellent baker, and dedicated homemaker. She will long be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to many who came to know her.
She is preceded in death by Joe, her husband of 52 years on March 25, 1999.; 3 brothers, John, Kenneth and Lawrence Leding; and 1 sister, Helen Brink.
Boots is survived by 2 sons, Tim (Julie) Cerar of McQuade Lake (Cherry), MN and Tom (Lori) Cerar of Maple Grove, MN; 1 daughter, Cindy (Tom) Swanson of Minnetonka, MN; 8 cherished grandchildren: Tor (Jessica) and Lars (Lynn) Swanson and Jordyn, Anna, Paul, Lily, Maliya and Tyler Cerar; 2 cherished great-grandchildren: Anika and Lizzy; 1-sister in-law Kathy Leding of Mpls; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday (January 22nd) at United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth, where a gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Emily Rova-Hegener will be the officiant. A reception in Boots' honor will be held in the church social hall immediately after the service. Interment will be in the Eveleth Cemetery. Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
