Camille M. Drift-Helgerson

Camille M. Drift-Helgerson, 47, Palo passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at St Luke's Medical Center in Duluth due to complication from diabetes.

She was born on August 24, 1969 in Virginia.  She lived in Aurora/Palo and graduated from Aurora Hoyt Lake High School in 1988.  Camille worked as a blackjack dealer atseveral resort casinos, including at Fortune Bay and Black Bear Casino.  She was very adept at beading and making native jewelry.  She loved her animals, including the 3 cats she has.  She was a member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.  She leaves behind many good friends who will dearly miss her.

She is preceded in death by her biological parents, Dennis and Janet Drift and 1 brother, Dennis Drift Jr.

Camille is survived by her adoptive parents, Doris and Orlen Helgerson of Palo; 3 children, Amanda, Michael and Brandon Helgerson; siblings, Laurie, Lisa, Alison, Sherri, Denise, Randy, Robert, Julie, Thomas, Brenda and Neil; 3 grandchildren, Orlando, Michael and Rozzell.

SERVICES :   Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 7 ^th , at the Nett Lake Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Kevin Land will be the officiant.  Interment will be in the Bois Forte Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
