Carol L. Hartnell
Carol Lorraine Hartnell, 75, of Cook, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 in the Cook Community Nursing Home.
She was born on June 7, 1939 in Silverdale to Mark and Alma (Anderson) Hegg. She grew up and attended school in Silverdale and moved to Sawbill Landing near Ely for several years, in the 1950's. She lived on the north shore of Lake Superior for several years, then moving to Cook in 1990. She married Ernest Richard Hartnell on Aug. 25, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa. Carol worked as a waitress in restaurants in Minnesota for many years, most recently at the Orr Café. She was a life member of the Cook VFW Auxiliary.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Dick" in 2000; brothers, Leonard Hegg, Arnold Hegg and Donald Hegg; sister, Shirley Lindgren and special pet dog, Lollipop.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Goerts of Duluth; several nieces and nephews and her special pet dog, Tinker.
