Carol Ann (Karvala) Keister, 66, of Cook, MN; loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Cook Care Center. She was born August 30th, 1957 in Virginia, MN to Milton and Norma (St. Jacques) Karvala.
Carol graduated from Cook High School in 1975. She married Michael Keister on June 6th, 1981 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They raised their children in Cook where Carol loved being a mother and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was seen as a mother-figure to many. In her younger years, she was an active member in the church and enjoyed participating in community events. She was known for her hearty laughter and her quick, witty humor. Throughout her life, her hobbies included horseback riding, gardening, making floral arrangements, caring for animals of all kinds, and visiting with friends and family at the kitchen table. She enjoyed spontaneous adventures with numerous friends, bringing laughter and joy to those that came upon them. Carol's amazing faith was a pillar of strength that always allowed her to get through any obstacle.
She was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Norma Karvala; her son John Keister; sister Jerelyn Martinson; and brother Verne Chesney.
Carol is survived by her husband Mike Keister; daughter Melida Keister; son Bruce (Danielle) Keister; grandchildren: Charlotte and Lane Keister; niece Sarah (Kevin) Sheffer; great nephews: Elias and Hudson Sheffer; nephew Stewart (Lynda) Martinson; great-nephew Nathan Martinson; nephew Jason Martinson; along with numerous other family members.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cook, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 12:00 pm.
