Dec 15, 1946 — Sep 11, 2025
Carol Ann O'Connell Alto Dostal, age 78, of Virginia, Minnesota, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 11, 2025, in her hometown. Born on December 15, 1946, in Virginia, Carol was the cherished daughter of Daniel and Doris O'Connell and one of four beloved sisters: Janet (Andy) Autio, Cathy Chavers, and Linda (Dan) Manick.
Carol's life was defined by her deep devotion to her family, especially her children. A proud Minnesotan through and through, Carol found joy in life's simple pleasures. She had a sharp mind for puzzles, reading, a love of travel, and a fondness for a friendly visit to the casino. Above all, Carol treasured time spent with family and friends, sharing laughter, stories, and creating meaningful memories that will be cherished for years to come. Carol was also a member of Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Dostal, and her parents, Daniel and Doris. She is survived by her three children, her sisters, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends who will miss her kindness, warmth, and steady presence.
A funeral service will be held at Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook, Minnesota on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 12:00pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Carol's well-lived and loving life.
