Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Bergman, 82, passed away on June 21, 2026, at home with his family. He was born on January 6, 1944, in Duluth, MN

Chuck lived the majority of his life in Cook, where he valued tradition and took solace in being "where things make sense." He enjoyed a good basketball game, football game, golfing, rewatching movies, rereading books, playing dice and card games, telling and retelling stories, camping with his family at Namakan, and spending time with his family no matter where they were. He made sure his children knew he loved them and that he was proud of them.

He was preceded in death by his children, daughter Paige Bergman and son Chad Bergman; his parents, Violet Schelde Bergman and Johan "John" Bergman; his in-laws, Alice Doan Hard and Delmer Hard; his brother, John Bergman; and his niece, Nadine Udovich.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gail Hard Bergman; daughter, Kim (Eric) Anderson of Troutdale, OR; son, Seth (Kahri) Bergman of Gresham, OR; daughter-in-law, Laura (Eric) Bergman Johansen of Angora, MN; grandson, Hakan Anderson; his sister, Janice Bergman of Beaverton, OR; step-granddaughter, Jordan (Lucas) Ripley of Rochester, NY; and step-grandsons, Matt Bergman of Angora, MN, and Stefen (Maggie) Johansen of Duluth.

His dry sense of humor and cheesy jokes will be missed. "Can I borrow your comb? No, I can't part with it." Chuck is a Bozo.
