Charles Ervin Scott, 98, of Cook, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Charles was born in Cook, MN on September 7, 1928, to Carl and Sigri (Holter) Scott. He attended school in Cook. On April 29, 1949, Charles married Agnes Kattainen and they were blessed with four children.

He worked for the U.S Forest Service and Diamond Match as a land and timber appraiser. Later in life, he decided to become self-employed as a farmer, sawmill owner and a logger. Charles was also the Sexton for the Littlefork Cemetery in Field Township for over 30 years, retiring in 2012. He also held the position of supervisor for Field Township for 15 years.

Charles enjoyed playing guitar and singing. At the ripe old age of 80, he recorded a CD titled “Better Late Than Never”, of which two songs have been selected to be played during his memorial service.

He loved horseback riding, deer hunting and fishing. He was considered a “Jack-of-all-trades”, especially regarding his welding skills.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Agnes; sister E. Doris Roderick; brothers-in-law E. Donald Roderick and John Kattainen; and son-in-law Charles Lindberg.

He is survived by his children: Juanita (Ronald) Graber, Wanda Scott, William Scott, and Lola Lindberg; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for Charles will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cook, MN, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following, a lunch will be provided.
