Charles Robert
Walker
Apr 2, 1959 — Feb 20, 2024
Charles "Buck" Robert Walker, 64, of Chisholm, MN passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Charles was born on April 2, 1959 to Elmer Walker and Carole Walker (Warbritton) in Rhinelander, WI. Charles lived in various places throughout his life including Wisconsin, Colorado, Texas and Minnesota. He married Dawn Danyluk on September 18, 1984 in Virginia, MN. The couple resided in Chisholm, MN.
Charles made his living as a logger, working all over Wisconsin, Texas, and Minnesota. He enjoyed it most when he was young and working his horse Barney. Who he shared so many stories about. He loved woodworking of all kinds and enjoyed mechanics and working with stone. Charles was known as a Jack of all trades. He also liked to study Constitutional Laws and Rights of the common man. He was strong in his belief of freedom and the rights of all people. He was a man who was strong in his spiritual beliefs and connection to the cosmos.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Carole; his infant daughter Jessica Walker; grandson Ethan Walker; and granddaughter Kaitlyn Walker: sisters Gail Walker and Cindy Fiskari.
Charles is survived by his wife Dawn Walker; daughters: Angel Walker, Carole Walker, Melissa Rice, and Kristina (Jason) Harding; sons: Charlie (Ashley) Walker, and Jonathan (Lexi) Musakka; brothers: Robert "Joe" Walker, and Irving Dutton; and sister Gloria Dutton; 21 grandchildren with 3 holding a special place in his heart, Cindy, Charles and Ciara; and 2 great-grandchildren. Four very special friends: Scott Larson, Mike Vittori, Chester Nelson and Shane Oneil who he thought of as a son. Along with so many others.
We will always remember how he could make a guitar sing by itself and harmonize with his voice in the variety of music he played. From forgotten folk songs to country and rock. He will always be heard in the music we hear. There is not a person he met that was not touched by his love and compassion for the black sheep and underdog. He loved with his heart and soul and always strived for peace, love and mostly harmony. His love for nature and the animals was strong and often spoke about the freedom they had and wished he had. This led him to many areas of National Forest Camping, which rejuvenated and refreshed his being.
A 65th Birthday Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Old Muni, Cook, Mn from 1-5pm with food and entertainment.
