Cheryl A. Simonson
Cheryl "Sherry" Ann Simonson, 68 of Cook passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Duluth.
She was born Cheryl Ann LaFlex on August 22, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She had lived in Ely and Tower at the logging camps where her father Harvey Dillon was employed. Sherry graduated from the Tower High School and after her marriage to Duane Simonson they settled and lived in Cook for many years.
She had enjoyed blueberry picking and loved being in the country where she enjoyed nature and solitude. She especially liked her cats and dogs. Sherry will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents: Gloria and Harvey Dillon; husband, Duane Simonson; brother Barry Dillon and great granddaughter Olivia Cornelius.
She is survived by her children: Joe (Kathy) Simonson of Cook and Tammy (Brian) Cornelius of Chisholm; 2 brothers: Gerald and Dick LaFlex; 1 sister: Sandy Bergman; grandchildren Joshua (Melissa) Cornelius, Ryan (Brittany) Cornelius, Andrea (Cedric) Simonson, Cody Simonson and Cassandra Soderbeck; Great grandchildren, Jamison, Journey,Gabriel and Carson,along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday (July 8th) at the Field Township Cemetery. Rev. Tom Kennebeck will be the officiant. Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook. To sign the online guest book or send a condolence to the family go to; wwwmlakerfuneralhome.com
