Daniel "Dan" David Rutchasky, 57, of Cook, MN passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Dan was born in Hibbing, MN on November 19, 1964 to William "Bill" and Beatrice (Rankila) Rutchasky. He grew up in Angora while attending school in Cook; graduating Cook High School in 1985. Dan started working for Hill Wood Products shortly after High School in 1987 and remained a dedicated, lifelong employee.

Dan loved snowmobiles, the outdoors, and putzing on motors. He could fix anything and was very meticulous when working on a project; he strove for perfection.  He was a shy and quiet person, but once he got to know you, you were a life-long friend. He would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed help. He was a strong advocate for the AA program that kept him going. Dan was well known for his great sense of humor; he will be missed by many!

Dan was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice; his brothers: Steven and Wendell; and his infant sister.

Dan is survived by the love of his life, Margie Backes; his father William "Bill" Rutchasky; step-father Roger Waisanen; brothers: Bill Jr (Patty), and Ronald; sisters: Lois (Tim), and Pauline (Cory); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 2:00PM at Mlaker Funeral Home, Cook, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Online condolences to www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
