Dolores Ramos Kaml, 84, of Cook, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Dolores was born to Manuel and Catalina (Gomez) Ramos on April 7, 1933. She and her family moved to Laredo, Texas during the early 40's. She continued her schooling until 10 th grade and then followed her family as a migrant worker. For the next several years, she and her family hoed and thinned beets in North Dakota. In between harvest seasons, the family worked at the Bond Pickle Company in Wisconsin. She and her family then moved to Minnesota and worked on a potato farm. She had not met her future husband yet, but she caught his eye as she was driving a tractor. Frank "Poncho" Kaml and Dolores Ramos finally met in 1956 and started dating in 1961; most of their "dates" (as her husband recalls with a smile) were driving around harvesting potatoes. They were united in marriage on April 28, 1963 in Loredo, Texas. Dolores and Frank made a home in Minnesota and started a family. Dolores was a hard-working woman all of her life. Working on the family farm and raising her children with Frank. Later in life, she decided to finish school, earned her GED, and then attended a tech school, proudly earning her license as a CNA when she was 50 years old. She also taught adult Spanish classes at the Cook school. Dolores enjoyed gardening. She also loved raising her children and doting on her grandchildren.
Dolores had many loving qualities but most of all was her love for her family & Jehovah. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness congregation in Cook for many years, until her death.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents-Manuel and Catalina; a beloved son-Frank Kaml Jr.; brothers-Manuel Ramos, Francisco Ramos, Jose' Ramos, and Roberto Ramos.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank "Poncho" Kaml; sons-Darrel (Cristina) Kaml, Merlyn Kaml, and Randy Kaml; daughters-Sandra (Frank) Schodowski, Karen (Christopher) Ray, Tanya (Christian) Werdier; daughter-in-law-Kelly Kaml; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:00PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hibbing, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. To leave an online condolence visit www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
