Donald J Larson, 85, of Cook, MN passed away on Tuesday November 9, 2021.

Donnie was born at his family homestead in Rauch, MN to Earl and Ida (Johnson) Larson.

Donnie attended school in Silverdale, and like many young men in those days, left school early to work on his family farm and in the woods logging with his father. Donnie continued logging throughout his life, retiring in 2017 at the age of 81 from John Rolle Logging.

Donnie married Alberta "Birdie" Gustafson on December 12, 1980. Donnie became a father to Birdie's children and loved and treated them as his own.

Donnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and 4-wheeling. He and Birdie spent many seasons trapping and hunting partridge together.

Donnie was a kind hearted person who enjoyed time with his family and also time spent at his family homestead. He is loved and will be dearly missed.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers: Robert, Richard, and Theodore Larson.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife Alberta "Birdie"; his step-children Carrie (Scott) Erickson, Tara (Kevin Jacobson) Gustafson, Ryan (Jill) Gustafson; grandchildren: Samantha Erickson, Hailey Erickson, Jacob Erickson, McKenzie Gustafson, Kaiden Kachinske; and great-granddaughter Rilee Ann Stone; good friends: David Gibbs and Dennis Udovich, and numerous nieces and nephews.
