Eileen Renay Aune, 61, of Gheen, MN passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Eileen was born in Cook, MN on December 24, 1964 to Linda (Niemi) and Stanley Vezina.

Eileen lived in Nevada for many years, where she was married to Dale Kennedy and raised her children, Chelsie and Dusten. During her time there, she worked as a Lutheran preschool teacher.

In 1997, Eileen and her family moved back home to Minnesota. In 2002, she married her old high school pal, Tim Aune. Together, Eileen and Tim shared many years filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. They had a special way of making each other laugh and enjoyed the simple happiness of being together.

Eileen was loved by many and had an outgoing personality that drew people to her. She enjoyed visiting with others and loved having company. She was a hard worker who took pride in the things she cared about.

Eileen found joy in the little things in life. She loved tending to her rock garden and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In earlier years,she enjoyed making memories camping with her cousin Julie out at Phifer lake.

Above all, Eileen treasured the people in her life. Her warmth, laughter, hard work, and love for family will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a lasting place in the hearts of those who loved her.

Eileen was preceded in death by her mother Linda and her father Stanley, her adoptive father Jim Lokken; son Dusten Kennedy; brother Aaron Lokken; uncle Lyle Vezina; grandpa Paul Niemi; and grandma Tyne Niemi (Kujanso).

She is survived by her husband Tim Aune; daughters: Chelsie Kennedy, Shalane (Derek) Novak, and Misti Aune; son Brent Aune; grandchildren: Dakota and Hunter Schwarzenberger, Maryah Houston, Bella Hawkinson, Mac Novak; brothers Dale Lokken and Jack Lokken; sister Tina Lokken; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Malker Funeral Home, Cook, MN.
