EmaDee White
EmaDee White, 81, Cook, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, February 8, 2015.
She was born EmaDee Eichholz on November 10, 1933 in Cook, to Anthony and Zada (Brandon) Eichholz. She grew up in the Vermilion Dam area and graduated from Cook High School, then St. Mary's Nursing College to become a registered nurse. She married Richard J. White in Cook on June 25, 1955. After marriage the couple settled in Cook, where they raised their family and have since resided. EmaDee worked at the Virginia Regional Medical Center for four years, then the Cook Hospital, where she was a dedicated registered nurse for over 40 years. She cared for others all of her life. She and Richard "Dick" were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cook. They both were committed volunteer drivers for the Meals on Wheels program. EmaDee enjoyed gardening, knitting, and looked forward to her Tuesday night league bowling. She was devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother who dearly loved her family. Her family fondly recalls that she "had the patience of a saint." She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Geraldine Slee and Eula Anderson.
EmaDee is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard "Dick"; 2 sons, Douglas (Nicole) White of Carlton and James (Karen) White of Bemidji, MN; 3 daughters, Gena Stoterau of Virginia, MN, Anita White of St Paul, MN and Diana White of Cohasset, MN; 2 brothers, Jack (Pearl) Eichholz of Pendleton, OR and Bill (Lietta) Eichholz of Hibbing, MN; 1 sister, Lois Youngman of Ft. Madison, IA, 11 cherished grandchildren: Emy (Jason), Jason (Kendra) Lyle, Isak (Jenna), Travis, Kristian, Alec, Cole, Connor, Justin and Lauren; 3 cherished great grandchildren: Danica, Gavin and Kali; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, (February 12th) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cook. Visitation will be one hour prior the funeral. Father Drew Braun will be the celebrant. St. Mary's Choir will sing, with Marjorie Miller providing the accompaniment. A reception in EmaDee's honor will be held in the church social hall immediately after the service. Spring burial will be the Birch Grove Cemetery in Vermilion Dam. Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
