Erick R. Wallin

Erick R. Wallin, 87 of Gheen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Cook Care Center.

Erick was born on September 19, 1929 at home in Meadowbrook, (west of Cook) the son of John and Sophie (Sjoberg) Wallin. At the age of 6 he moved with his family to Gheen. He graduated from Orr High School. He attended Superior Vocational Technical Institute, specializing in diesel mechanics. He married Marjorie A. Eddy on July 7, 1956 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Greaney. Erick was a dedicated mechanic in the construction trade for over 45 years, and a proud 65 year union member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49.
Erick had served as a longtime Willow Valley Supervisor and a committed Fire Warden for 25 years. He was skillfull at woodworking, making many wood projects, including cedar chests and toy boxes for his grandchildren. He was also a farmer raising many animals and crops with his family.

Erick is survived by his wife of 60 Years Marjorie; 3 sons, Richard (Rebecca Klineschmidt) Wallin of Little Falls, MN, Kenneth (Patricia Silvers) Wallin of International Falls, and Charles (Julia Spiegel) Wallin of Charleston, S.C.; 3 daughters, Patricia (Jeff) Johnson of Foley, MN, Jean (Gary) Gornik of Dixon, IL and Delores (Richard) Canelli of Wasilla, Ak; 1 brother, George Wallin of St. Paul, MN; 17 grandchildren, Elki, Elon, Amelia, Patrick, Amber, Christina, Cody, Amber, Garrett, Danielle, Nathan, Rachel, Jacob, Kendra, Eric, Caleb and Gabriel; 24 great grandchildren, Jason, Lincoln, Landon, Aiden, Milo, Sabrina, Lauren, Kaida, Daniel, Kiera, Remington, Elijah, Addison, Zander, Skyler, Alexia, Nevaeh, Khalli, Markus, Gracelyn, Henrick, Ashby, Elly and Alux; along with numerous brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews.


SERVICES: A Graveside service for Erick R. Wallin  who passed away on November 15, 2016, will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday July 1, 2017 at the Willow Valley Cemetery.
