Everett G. "Babe" Baron
Everett Gust "Babe" Baron, 77 of International Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 with his loving family by his side, after a short battle with cancer.
Babe was born on April 12, 1939 to the late John and Florence "Tootsie" (Kittelson) Baron Sr. in International Falls. He graduated from the Falls High School in 1957, where he excelled in football. In April of 2017 Babe's High School football team will be inducted into the Bronco Hall of Fame. On graduation evening he started his career at Boise Cascade where he worked for over 28 years until the layoffs of the insulite shut down. Babe started Baron Furniture Stripping as his side hobby and did it for many years. He then worked for Arrowhead Transit driving bus where he drove until retirement. During his years of driving bus he was nominated and won the citizen of the year for International Falls in 2001.
In 1959 Babe was united in marriage to June Stone and they were married for 25 years. They were blessed with 3 beautiful and caring children Kristine, Michael and Julie.
Babe loved spending his time with his family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, cribbage, Texas "Holdem", steel darts and gathering times with his family. He liked gardening and canning. He loved to take spur of the moment trips to the casino to test his luck. Babe was an avid sports watcher of the MN Twins, Vikings and MN Wild. Babe's most favorite time was just going to his happy place-the shack whether by himself or family and friends. He especially enjoyed times at the shack watching his kids and grandkids shoot there 1 st bird/deer. The smile on Babe's face was always big and contagious to everyone around him. He had a great sense of humor that made everyone laugh, especially when he would say one of his many Babe Baron Quotes. "You Better Believe It." Babe took comfort in reading the Bible and had his own strong faith in the Lord. It was his way Babe loved life. He especially treasured his family.
