FRANK JOSEPH LIETZ

APRIL 16, 1924 – MAY 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Frank Joseph Lietz, age 101,  who went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2025 at Carefree Living in Cook, MN. He was born on April 16, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Frank J. Lietz and Julia (Mack) Lietz.

Frank came from a family of 5 boys (Robert, Raymond, Frederick, & Earl) and 2 sisters (Ruth Rook & Betty Jane Bowman). Frank was the last survivor of his siblings.

Frank was a man of many talents. Machinist, electrician, great at fixing anything. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, great cook, gardener, (very green thumb!). He taught his sons well with the same talents.

Frank Joseph Lietz is survived by his children: Jim (Wanda) Lietz, Donald (Virginia) Lietz, Kathleen (James) Manwaring, Patty (Kirk) Forsline, Frank J. Lietz Jr.; eight grandchildren: Jim (Cathy) Lietz, Brian (Peggy) Lietz, Greg (Julie) Lietz, Erik (Jessica) Lietz, Amy (Chad) Johnson, Tracy (Joe) Rabbers, Rachel (Casey) Lutz, Daniele Quinn; twenty great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren who will cherish his memory and continue his legacy.

His life will be celebrated at Mlaker Funeral Home, 27 1st Street SE, Cook, May 17, 2025. Visitation will be at 2:00pm and the service at 3:00pm with Pastor Ron Anderson officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share their memories.
