Obituary

Frank "Mike" Michael Pouchnik, 82, of Cook, MN passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Mike was born on March 5, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN to Frank and Irene (Peterson) Pouchnik. He grew up in Minneapolis where he attended school and graduated from South Minneapolis High School in 1960. Mike was an avid water skier with the Prior Lake Ski Club in his younger years.  After High School, Mike settled in the Twin Cities and worked over 25 years at Twin Cities Optical until he retired in 2000.

In 1984, Mike married his second wife Hazel Brown Longseth, and in retirement in 2000, they moved to Cook, Mn to live on Lake Vermillion. Mike enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling in and around Lake Vermilion and his "life on the lake".  He was the former President of the Raps Road Association. In recent years, he loved spending time with his two dogs (Jessie and Missy). Mike was preceded in death by his wife Hazel, and his parents Frank and Irene.

Mike is survived by his children and their families: Cari Pouchnik of Woodland, CA, Corey Pouchnik of Mound, MN, Derek Pouchnik of Viola, ID; stepsons: Richard J. Longseth of St. Paul Park, MN, and Dave Longseth of St. Paul Park, MN; stepdaughter Valerey (Longseth) Klaczynsky of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family takes comfort knowing "that Michael has been reunited in Heaven with his wife Hazel Pouchnik".

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a future date which will be announced.
