Franklin Delano Hackley, 88, of Bear River, passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital, on August 21, 2021.

Frank was born January 8, 1933, in Savage, MD, youngest son of James and Effie Hackley.  He grew up in Savage, and was joined in marriage to his wife, Darlene (Lyckholm), on January 5, 1953, in Norfolk, VA while serving in the United States Navy.  Frank retired from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture as a carpenter and moved to Side Lake, MN in 1994.  Recently, Frank was a resident of Bear River. He was an active member of Bear River Lutheran Church where he enjoyed playing his mandolin and singing.  He enjoyed trapping, gardening, fishing, card playing and in recent years, having coffee and shooting a few games of pool with friends.  Frank was well known for his lively stories, always being there to lend a helping hand, and being a wonderful father and mentor.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Darlene, in 2016.

Frank is survived by his four children: Robin (Richard) Hoke of Cooksville, MD; Allen (Lisa) Hackley of Middle River, MD; Lydia Steedman of Great Cacapon, WV; and Leslie (David) Scofield of Bear River, MN; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 11:00AM at the Bear River Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. To leave an online condolence visit www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
