Gregory Scott Wepsala passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2026, at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN.

Greg was born on October 11, 1966, to Harold and Shirley Wepsala in Trenton, MI. The family moved to Grand Rapids, MN in 1976, where he attended school and graduated in 1984.

Greg worked various jobs and found his calling at Northland Machine Inc. in Cohasset, MN in 2002. He was a valuable team member there until his passing. He was also a longtime SAL Member of the Grand Rapids American Legion Post 60.

Greg was mechanically inclined and loved working in his garage in his spare time. He also enjoyed cookouts with his family on Drumbeater Island on Pokegama Lake.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents and ½ brother Storm Johnson.

Greg is lovingly remembered by his children from an earlier marriage: Elise Christine Wepsala and Noah Scott Wepsala; his children meant the world to him. He is also survived by sister Ruth Pedley and ½ siblings Gale Johnson and Dawn (Dave) Innes.

Greg will also be missed by his girlfriend Carol DeShay and the many friends whose lives were made better by knowing him. He was a kind, unpretentious, stand-up kind of man.
