Hanna Marie Benoit

Hanna M. Benoit, 20, Soudan, formerly of Cook, passed away from health complications on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's in Duluth.

She was born on September 1, 1995 in Duluth, the daughter of David and Kristine (Bourassa) Benoit. She grew up in Cook and graduated from Northwoods High School in 2014. Hanna was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Alango, where she was confirmed and took part in missions and many youth outings. Hanna was employed in housekeeping at Fortune Bay Resort and Casino. She loved outdoor activities, some of which included hunting, fishing and"4'wheeling." She found inspiration in quiet time reading and in her music. Her most treasured times were found in spending times with family and friends, and all times spent with Lucy and Zack. Hanna lived life to the fullest, her positive attitude and warm smile lifted all those who knew her or met her.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Dave Benoit on September 11, 2013.

Hanna is survived by the loves of her life, Zach Norup and their daughter Lucy ; her mom, Krissy Benoit; sister Emily; brother Jacob; grandparents Linda (Gary Novak) Reed, John
Bourassa, Lynann (Ernie Vines) Gradin and Martin Benoit; along with numerous special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Monday (Jan. 25th) at Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor "pj" Bailey will be the officiant.. The honorary bearers will be Tim Benoit, John Benoit, Jeremie Benoit, Markus Udovich, Michael Udovich, JB Bergman, Cody Long and Rick Benoit. A reception in Hanna's honor will be held at the Cook VFW immediately after the service. Funeral arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
