Harold Henry Helgeson, 80, of Ray, MN passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at St. Mary's hospital in Duluth surrounded by his family and friends.
Harold was born to Palmer and Marion (Arola) Helgeson on June 30, 1938 in New York Mills, MN.
Harold attended school in International Falls and Indus. While at Indus he met Caroline Mae Steinbach of Loman and they were married on November 19, 1956. Thru their 62 years of marriage they raised 3 children and lived in Loman, Orr and at Ray, MN on the Lazy H Ranch.
Harold enjoyed visiting, taking family vacations, coaching youth hockey, horse showing, and attending grandchildren's events. He made a living farming, raising quarter horses, and logging. He was an active member of the Northwoods Bible Church.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother Russell Helgeson; brother John Helgeson; sister Janice De'Bernardeaux; and son-in-law Greg Olson.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Caroline of Ray, MN; daughters: Maxine Olson (friend Dale Johnson) of Orr, MN; Christine Swenson (Wayne) of Littlefork, MN; son Russell Helgeson (Julie) of Ray, MN; grandchildren: Jodie Lox (Scott), Sara Swenson, Aaron Olson, Adam Olson (Rachel), Jamie Hell (Derek), Dustin Helgeson, Wyatt Helgeson; great grandchildren: Autymn Olson, Tori Hell, Ian Olson, Tucker Hell, River Deatheridge -Olson, and Ava Lox; sisters: Elsie Korpi and Judy Anderson (Bruce); brother: Palmer Helgeson; sisters-in law: Rose Plock (Larry), Eileen Johnson (Virgil Kluge), Barb Keeney (Graham); brothers-in-law: Jerry Steinbach (Karen), Harvey Steinbach (Iris); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Northwoods Bible Church, Ray, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Ray Cemetery. To leave an online condolence visit www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
