Inez Seline
Burris
Jun 8, 1923 — Apr 30, 2026
INEZ SELINE (BOE) BURRIS
After 102 years, the angels came to take Inez to be with the Lord on April 30th, 2026. Inez was born on June 8,1923 to Clarence and Selma (Jacobson) Boe, an immigrant couple from Norway that made their home between North Dakota and MN.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM, Mlaker Funeral Home, Cook, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Liz Cheney is officiating.
After finishing high school, Inez worked at a factory in the Mpls. area. Later, she met her husband-to-be after being introduced by a friend. They married on June 20th, 1945.
Inez was a mother of 9 children and made her home at Elbow Lake with her husband, Manley. She always had the coffee pot on for visitors. Inez welcomed lake goers and family alike.
She was an avid crocheter, usually making slippers and afghans for friends and family—especially for the grandkids.
She transitioned into the nursing home at age 90, when she could no longer care for herself. Although she wasn't happy with the idea at first, she came to realize that she had many friends there. She loved her crafts and playing Bingo to win quarters. She also loved the bus trips to go to restaurants and shopping.
Inez lived a long, full life, living through numerous changes. We will always remember her kindness and hospitality to others. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by us all!
Inez was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Manley Burris; sons; Manley Burris Jr., Ron Sharp, Douglas Burris, Ronald Burris; and a daughter, Barb Gavin; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Arlene Boe; sister, Carol (Dean) Valentine; brother, Irel Boe; her parents Clarence and Selma Boe, and in-laws John and Ethel Burris.
She is survived by her sons; Gerald (Jerry) Burris, Thomas (Tom) Burris, John Burris; and daughter, Marion Burris; grandchildren: Jade Smith, April (Rich) Inott, Chris (Karen) Burris, Tom Burris Jr., Austin (Sam Maki) Burris, Cody Burris, Bruce Sharp, Jeffrey Sharp; great- grandchildren: Summer (Michael Lumadue) Novak, Miranda Burris, Katelyn (Beau Hohestein) Burris, Derek Steinbach, Cole (Megan Straddle) Quesnel, Heidi (Taylor Schmidt) Inott, Adam Inott; great-great grandchildren: Kinsley, Abel, and Tatum; plus, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A special thank you to the LPNs, CNAs and all the providers at the Cook Care Center and Hospital, where she made her home for over 12 years. Our family appreciates your dedication and kindness towards Inez during her time with you. She would often tell us about the nice girls who take care of me!
God Bless you all for love and kindness! The family of Inez Burris
