Jean A. Hall
Jean Adair Hall ,74, Orr, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, after a life full of camping, fishing and hunting,
She was born on October 27, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MN the daughter of Guerdon and Esther (Foster) Craven. She grew up in Pengilly, graduating from the Greenway High School class of 1959. She then attended Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids. Jean moved to the cities and was employed as a librarian at the Hennepin County Library.
She then moved back to Hibbing and later met and married James "Jim" Hall on October 10, 1969. After marriage they settled in Gilbert where they raised their family.
After retirement, they moved to Orr, where they lived the past 15 years. Jean had a zest for life and the outdoors and loved camping, hunting, fishing and especially the bonfires with family and friends in Pengilly. The family light heartedly recalls that there was lots of mischief, and Jean was usually the leader.
She took pride in working with and helping "her kids" in day care.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 1 brother, Richard Craven and 1 daughter-in-law, Penny Syversrud.
Jean is survived by her husband James "Jim" Hall of Orr; 4 sons: Mike Syversrud of Gilbert, Scott Syversrud of Orr, Jim (Linda) Hall of Gilbert and John (Laureen) Hall of Eveleth; 3 daughters, Geraldine Fendler of Shakopee, MN, Jolene Brewton of New Richmond, WI, and Marie (Patrick) Maczko of Lakeville, MN; 2 brothers Charles "Charlie" (Dwan) Craven of Gilbert and Steven Craven of Hibbing; 3 sisters, Judy (Bob) Lucca of Phoenix, AZ, Jeri and Joyce Craven, both of Pengilly, MN; 14 cherished Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, along with numerous, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at 11:00 Am Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Joey "pj" Bailey will be the officiant. Burial will be held at a later date in the Leiding cemetery in Orr. A reception in honor of Jean will be held at the Cook VFW immediately after the service.
