Our mom/grandma, Jennie LaValla, passed away on August 13, 2023 at the age of 96. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al, after 72 years of marriage, and a son-in-law Gary Fredericks.  She is survived by her children: Pat (Rocky) Lehto, Ellen Fredericks, Leslie (Suna) LaValla and DJ LaValla; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Josie (Walter) LaValla; and several nieces and nephews.

Jennie was a homemaker most of her life. She also cleaned cabins and other people's homes at Kabetogama Lake. She loved company and always had an extra plate at mealtime, with the coffee pot on at all times along with sweets. Mom didn't like cooking, but always had good hearty meals on the table. Her kids and grandchildren loved her fried potatoes and we never knew her secret for making them as ours never tasted the same as hers did.

Mom really enjoyed country music and the music played at our family reunion jams. She and Dad had their picture taken with Kitty Wells and her husband. One of her favorite songs was "Just Beyond the Moon Where I'll Stop and Wait for You". She and dad enjoyed dancing and mom played the accordion and both played harmonica. Jennie also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and reading.

We will miss our mom/grandma, but we know her and dad are together again. Bye mom, we all love you.
