Joseph E. Bohlin

Joseph E. Bohlin, 87 of Alango, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Fairview University Medical Center in Hibbing.

He was born on January 2, 1928, at Kelliher, MN the son of Carl and Martha (Riggs) Bohlin. He grew up in Jacobson then lived in Detroit Lakes. He moved to North Dakota where he worked in the potato fields and for the Railroad cleaning railroad cars. He moved to Alango where he lived the last 37 years, with his wife Ruth Geshick. Joe had worked for Maturi Logging for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, going to garage sales, the garbage grounds and was known as the "reuser"- no wasting anything. Joe and Ruth took care and pride in raising their grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and camping. For the past year Joe was making his home at The Cornerstone Villa in Buhl.

He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Geshick (2009); 1 son: David Bohlin; 2 brothers: Alvin and John Paul Bohlin; and 2 sisters: Mary Hubentte and Anna Rich;

Joe is survived by 1 brother: John Bohlin of Hibbing; and one sister Elaine Rich of Hibbing; a sister in-law Lucille Bohlin of Detroit Lakes; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Rev Art Dale will be the officiant. Burial will be in the Alango Township Cemetery. A reception in Joe's honor will follow the services at the Cook VFW.
