Joseph Delano Gonier, 83, of Nett Lake, Mn passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Joseph was born on January 3, 1941, in Nett Lake, MN to Joseph and Evelyn (Wein) Gonier. He attended school and then entered the Marine Corps in 1960, serving his country honorably until 1964. After his service, he attended Dunwoody College where he became a computer technician. Soon after graduating Dunwoody, he gained employment with Honeywell where he remained until his retirement.

Joseph was always a straightforward guy but loved his family very much. He loved traveling with his longtime love and life partner, Laura. He especially enjoyed flying his gas-powered RC airplanes and helicopters and building them. His greatest joy in life was his great-grandkids; Shaye, LaNara and Kye. He loved doing everything with them. From schoolwork to watching them play at the park, until the girls got older and started playing volleyball. Joseph's family and his special granddaughter Ashlee will miss him very much. However, they will still remember that he is with them in spirit from morning till night.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; son Dean Gonier; brother Knute Gonier; sister Bertha Gonier; step-daughter Loralee Isham;

Joseph is survived by his brother Chester Graue; his lifetime partner of 48 years, Laura Isham; step-daughter Lori Connor; granddaughter Ashlee Isham; great-grandchildren: Shaye, LaNara, and Kye Isham; niece Sheryl Gonier; and nephew Chuck Gonier.

A wake will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, starting at 5:00pm at the Bois Forte Government and Services Center. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:00am, also at the Bois Forte Government and Services Center.
