Knute Graue, 67, of Virginia, MN and former resident of Nett Lake, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Knute was born in Littlefork, MN on June 27, 1955 to Nels and Evelyn (Wein) Graue. He attended Orr High School and worked in the woods. During his life he was employed by Bois Forte logging, where he worked at the sawmill. In his later years, he worked odd jobs as needed.

Knute's passion was working on cars and other small engines until an accident left him permanently disabled with only one good hand. He enjoyed his family and friends until his passing.

Knute is survived by his children: Marsha (Dave) Villebrun of Embarrass, Katherine Thompson of Virginia, Curtis (Leda) Thompson of California, and Samantha Thompson of Virginia; brothers: Joseph Gonier of Lake Vermilion, and Chester Graue of Nett Lake; grandchildren: Bridget, Cassandra, and Davis Villebrun, Jennifer Morrison and Jasmine Thompson; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Knute was preceded in death by his parents; sister Bertha Graue; uncle Knute Graue; and mother of his children Lois Thompson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:00am at the Bois Forte Government and Services Center. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
