Larry Francis Bialke passed away unexpectedly in Long Island City, NY on March 27th at the age of 72. He was born March 28th, 1945 in Virginia, MN to Dorothy (Erickson) and Peter Bialke and raised in Cook, MN by his mother and proud stepfather, Aaron Hall. Larry is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea and the USS Forrestal. After his military service, he began his career as a drill operator for US Steel and worked there until his retirement. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, teaching all his children how to handle firearms and bait a hook with patience and humor. Camping trips and basketball games with the Bergman family were always full of laughter. He enjoyed travel, golfing, sharing adventures and jokes with his best friend, Buzz Pliml, and spending time with his children. He was known for his sense of humor, willingness to help others, storytelling, and words of encouragement. He was always ready with a compliment for friends and family. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Hall. He will be sadly missed by his children Mindy Booth, Brynn Bialke, Casey (Eric) Krawczyk, and Aaron (Jessica) Bialke. He was quick to brag about his seven grandchildren, Bergen Fischer, Willow Krawczyk, Meadow Krawczyk, Arrow Krawczyk, Jace Bialke, Kade Bialke, and Gage Bialke. A Funeral Service in memory of Larry will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Mlaker's Funeral Home in Cook, Minnesota, with visitation held an hour prior to the service. A luncheon in honor of Larry will be held immediately after the service at the VFW of Cook, MN. Interment will be in Cook Community Cemetery.
