Lenore "Dolly" J. Anderson
Lenore "Dolly" J. Anderson, 78, Cook, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Cook Care Center.
She was born on August 29, 1938, in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, to Milton and Olive (Hakseth) Jensen. She grew up in Grantsburg, where she raised her two children, Allen and Becky. She later met the love of her life, and married Raymond Anderson on July 16, 1966 in Pine City, Minnesota. After marriage, the couple settled in Cook, (Ray's hometown), where together they built their own home and continued to raised their family. Dolly worked for Aune's Bakery, Musech's Big Dollar, then Clark's IGA.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and dedicated member of the Cook VFW Auxiliary, where she was dependable and well liked. She was known for her quilt making skills, liked the challenge of solving word puzzles,and enjoyed gardening and canning. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the chance to know her.
She is preceded in death by 1 brother, Dwight Jensen and 1 sister, Betty Ann Verdick.
Dolly is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond "Ray"; 1 son, Allen Hoover of Virginia; 1 daughter, Becky Jensen of Fargo, ND; 2 step-sons, Roy Michael "Mike" Anderson of Livermore, CA and Mark Anderson of Grain Valley, MO; 1 step daughter, Lucy (Gary) Rust of Minneapolis, MN; 6 brothers, Peter (Shirley), Glen (Rena), Oscar, Benny (Jeanne), Rodney (Linda) and Arlen (Mary Jane) Jensen; 5 sisters, Beatrice Strachota, Evonne Finch, Kay Kenyon, Lulette (Bernie)Human and Annette Edaburn; 7 Grandchildren, Jeremy Hoover, Lori Hoover, Dan (fiancé: Aubrie Maki) Hoover, Kallie (Mike) Budin, Brian Wetterlund, Chelsa (Adam) Anderson-Wies and Julia Anderson; 4 Great Grandchildren: Macy, Dallas, Aveya, and Ashton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends.
SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 18 th , at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cook, where a gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bruce Hannem will be the officiant. The singing will be congregational with Bailey Conger providing the accompaniment. A reception in Dolly's honor will follow in the church social hall after the service. Spring interment will be in the Cook Community Cemetery. Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
