Linda K. Ohlquist
Linda Kay Ohlquist, 72 a life long resident of International Falls passed away Saturday, November 26, at Essentia Health-Duluth, with family at her side.
Linda was born on October 8, 1944 in International Falls the daughter of John and Florence (Kittelson) Baron. She grew up in the Falls had attended the Falls High School, graduating in 1963. She had been formerly married to Noel Hoppe Sr. Linda was a dedicated nurses aid at Falls Memorial Hospital for many years, and later was employed at Hardees. She was blessed to find a new love and married Maurice "Red" Ohlquist on January 15, 1977 in the Falls. She had been raised in the church and was a beloved follower of Christ. Linda attended the Evangelical Covenant Church for many years, where she was active in the funeral ministry by providing food for the funeral lunches.
Linda was a great cook and baker and always had goodies for family and friends. She had enjoyed sewing, knitting and fishing. Her greatest joy was being part of a large family and loved having family and friends around her. Linda enjoyed life and had lived it to the fullest. She will be dearly missed by all who came to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 son Maurice Ohlquist Jr. and 1 grandson, Shawn Ohlquist.
Linda is survived by her husband of 39 years Maurice "Red"; children, Noel "Tiger" (Tina) Hoppe Jr. of New Richland, Skip (Hollie) Ohlquist , Jim (Marcia) Ohlquist , Bruce (Debbie) Ohlquist, Sandy Ohlquist and Georgeanne Brandrick all of International Falls; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, John "Sonny" (Yvonne) Baron and Everett (Babe) Baron; 3 sisters, Judy (Gene) Pierce, Janice (Don) Heppner Sr. and Connie (Leonard) Clark all of International Falls.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in International Falls. Visitation will start at noon at the church. Rev Darren Olson will be the officiant. Casket bearers will be Jim Ohlquist, Bruce Ohlquist, Ryan Ohlquist, Skip Ohlquist, Trey Hoppe, Noel "Tiger" Hoppe and Donald Ohlquist. The honorary bearers will be Jeremy Ohlquist, Christopher Ohlquist and Robby Brandrick. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Falls. A reception in Linda's honor will follow in the church social hall.
