Marcia C. Craw

Marcia C. Craw, 84, Chisholm, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4th, at Home Sweet Home Assisted Living in Hibbing, with her husband and family at her side.

She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on June 16, 1932, to Frank and Martha (Zillmer) Ruosch. Age the age of 7 she moved with her family to Chisholm, graduating from Chisholm High School in 1950. She was a trained professional figure skater who performed with the famed Holiday on Ice Show throughout the country and in Mexico. She had performed with famed skater Sonja Henie, (who won more Olympic and World titles than any other ladies' figure skater, along with being a famous actress.)
She married Lt. Roger James Bye, who was a U.S. Air Force fighter jet pilot and moved to England. Lt. Bye died piloting a McDonnell Fighter Jet F101A -VOODOO during a reconnaissance mission. She moved back to the states and was blessed to later find another love and married Hubert G. Craw on June 9, 1962 in Chisholm. The couple have made their home in Chisholm since. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Chisholm. She worked as the Activities Director for Heritage Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center for many years. Marcia was a member of the Hibbing Skating Club and was instrumental in starting the Chisholm Figure Skating Club, where she also a member and teacher. She and Hubert were members of the Chisholm Dance Club. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, who cherished her grandchildren. She was very kind and helped many people. Marcia will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lt. Roger James Bye (1961), 1 son, Roger James Bye Craw (1973), and 1 brother, Wallace Ruosch.

Marcia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Hubert; 1 son, Richard (Heather) Craw of Chisholm; 1 daughter, Lori (Terry) Samuelson of Hibbing; 8 Grandchildren - Shane, Shad, Sheyanne, Shaleah, Shay, Shalynn, Hannah and Jenny; 25 Great Grandchildren, along with many other special extended family and friends.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 8th at the Assembly of God Church in Chisholm, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Rev. John Koppel will be the officiant with Rev. Gina Koppel providing the music.. A reception in Marcia's honor will be held in the church social hall. Interment will follow in the Chisholm Cemetery.
