Obituary

Michelle Alyne Sarazine, 69, of Angora, MN passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at home with her loved ones by her side.

Michelle was born on August 2, 1949 in Duluth, MN to Melvin Raymond and Shirley Jeanne (Dieteman) Ranta. She attended school in Virginia, graduating from Virginia High School in 1967. She continued her school and earned her Bachelor's of Communication from Weber State University in 1992. She was united in marriage to Michael Francis Sarazine in 1970 in Cook, MN. Michelle and her family moved from Minnesota to Utah, until recently when her family brought her back home to Cook, MN.

Michelle held several careers during her life. She worked many restaurants, including "The Red Onion", and worked as a secretary at Hill Air Force Base as a civilian. She retired from HAFB in 2011.

Many knew Michelle as "Mickey". She was also crowned "Miss Timberdays" in the late 1960's. Michelle was an avid and accomplished skier. She raced semi-pro in her young adult years and was a professional ski instructor at world class resorts and coached youth programs. Michelle loved to travel whenever she could. Before her body became too frail, continued memories were made by traveling, including cruises and a coastal camping trip. Michelle was a loving wife, a devoted mother, sister and a proud aunt, and one amazing "Grammy" to her four grandchildren. Those who knew her well knew her will was strong and her heart was tender.

She was preceded death by her parents: Melvin and Shirley; and a sister, Jackie (Ranta) Dumont.

Michelle is survived by her loving husband, Michael Sarazine, Angora, MN; a son Michael M. (Stacy), Layton UT; 2 daughters: Sheryl Steed, Layton, UT and Beth Sarazine, Angora, MN; a brother, Bud Ranta, Mt. Iron, MN; and 4 grandchildren: Briana, Brooklyn, Braden, and Brynley.

A Memorial Service and Interment will be held at a later date. Family will send out notification once final arrangements are made. To leave on online condolence visit www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
