Mildred J. Janesich

Mildred Julia Janesich, 93, of Minneapolis, formerly of Rauch, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

Mildred was born on July 20, 1922 in Rauch, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Mulc) Janesich.

She was raised in Rauch, attending schools in Rauch and Silverdale, before graduating from the Hibbing High School Class of 1941. For several years she lived in Detroit, Michigan, where she was employed as a riveter (a true "Rosie the Riveter") for airplanes with Brigg's manufacturing during the World War 11 effort. After the war she moved back to Rauch for a time then in the late 1940's settled in Minneapolis where she resided the next 60 years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking. Mildred was talented seamstress for and worked for three companies throughout her career, Munsingwear, Sharpee's and the Energy Company. She retired in 1985, the past three years she has resided at Carefree Living in Silver Bay, to be near her brother George

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and John Janesich.

She is survived by one brother George Janesich of Silver Bay.

SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cook. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Father Drew Braun will be the celebrant. A reception in honor of Mildred will be held in the church social hall after the service. Burial will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery in Greaney.
