Patricia (Patty) Kay DeRusha, 80, of Cook, died peacefully at home with family by her side on Saturday March 2, 2024.

She was born on January 28, 1944, 27 minutes after her sister Peggy, the daughters of Kenneth and Gertrude Loomis. She grew up in Virginia and after high school graduation she worked at Vos's resort where she met the love of her life, Len (Leonard) DeRusha. She went on to Virginia Junior College where she completed her degree to become an LPN in 1963 and was later united in marriage to Len on February 8, 1964. They moved to St. Paul, where she worked as an LPN at Gillette Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital and then later Presbyterian Homes. Patty always wanted to live in the country and in 1993 this became a reality when she and Len moved to the DeRusha family homestead on DeRusha Rd in Cook Minnesota. She then worked for 13 years with Cook Hospital where she earned employee of the year in 2004. Patty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cook where she loved serving in the kitchen.
