Patricia Joanne Holappa, 78, of Babbitt, MN, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Heritage House in Chisolm, MN.

Patricia was born on September 19, 1938 in Oklee, MN to Clarence and Selma (Leland) Barsness. Patricia grew up and lived in her life in Virginia, Tower and Babbitt. At the age of 14, Patricia dropped out of school to help raise her three younger brothers after their mother passed away. She was united in marriage to Arthur Raymond Holappa on December 8, 1955 in Virginia MN. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crocheting, and knitting items for her children and grandchildren. Her most treasured times were spent with her family.Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-Richard Holappa; daughter-Theresa Holappa; and a brother Duane Barsness. She is survived by daughters: Kathy (Paul) Black of Hibbing; Lisa (Larry) Sampson of Babbitt; son John (Millie) Holappa; brothers: Curt (Sheila) Barsness of Florida; and Ken (Kay) Barsness of South Grove; grandsons: Chris (Valerie) Black of Staples; Daniel (Trish) Black of Hibbing; Joshua (Ana) Black of Hibbing; Daniel Holappa; Jacob Brown of Hibbing; Kyle Brown of Babbitt; Karl (Angel) Brown of Eveleth; granddaughters: Jessica (Ryan) Koskela of Hibbing; Beth (Ryan) Moffitt of Bloomington; Tiffany (Tim) Sklors of Gilbert; and 20 great-grandchildren: Ashley, Alex, Andrew, Tyler, Elilna, Myles, Addison, Garrett, Gabi, Carter, Johnny, Hannah, Kayla, Leah, Isiah, Hunter, Capri, Logan, Ronin, and Declan.
