Raymond "Ray" Juntunen, 83, of Cook, MN passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the Cook Care Center.

Ray was born on September 19, 1940 in Cook, MN to Matt and Impi (Neutila) Juntunen. He attended school in Cook until the 8th grade, and like most young men in that time, he left school and went to work as a logger. He worked as a self-employed logger and at a local sawmill. Ray was a mellow and quiet person. He enjoyed country music and loved his coffee and sweets. He like to walk to many places and travel around. In his younger days, he was famously dubbed "flying finn" as he would always beat everyone to a destination, even though they left before him. His family lovingly remembers his "great smile".

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Esther Salas, Sarah Noel, Lillian Kennedy, Helmi Iverson, Irene Garcia; and brothers: Edwin, William, Arne, Arnold, Walace, David, and Joseph; an infant brother; and a grandson.

Ray is survived by his daughter Terry; sister-in-law Bonnie Juntunen; brother-in-law Gene Noel; many nieces and nephews; and his friends at the log cabin-Theresa Martinson and Ronnie Setter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00am at Mlaker Funeral Home, Cook, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Online condolences to www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
