Obituary

Richard Albert Bush "R.B." of Cook, MN passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021. R. B. was born to William and Florence (Birdsall) Bush on October 27, 1947 in San Diego, California. He attended Alango School and then on to Cook High School, where he was an avid sportsman with a passion for playing baseball. Richard graduated in 1966 and worked various jobs until he joined the Army where he served honorably. After his service in the Army, he worked for DWP Railroad until he was injured. After leaving the railroad, R.B. worked for Gary Dehn at his motor rewind shop and then Mike Picek at the Riverfront 76 gas station. He also worked for his father-in-law doing construction dirt work and running the cat. He worked for a time for Vermilion Construction and other construction outfits until his retirement in 2006.

R.B. continued his passion for baseball as an adult and played on the Holm Logging softball team. He enjoyed listening to the Twins on the radio and watching the Vikings on TV. He loved his 4-wheeling, deer hunting, and bonfires. He enjoyed visiting, playing pool, cribbage and smear, and having a cold beer with friends and family. He liked to collect his "valuable" antiques and treasures. His favorite times were spent with his family and grandchildren. R.B. was well known for sitting in his lawn chair by the garage; gracing everyone who drove by with a smile and a wave.

R.B was preceded in death by his infant son Keith; his mother Florence; his twin brother Robert; sister Cathy; father and mother-in-law Robert and Doris Johnson; brother-in-law Ricky; and beloved aunt Iva.

R.B. is survived by his wife Roberta "Bobbi" Bush; his children Ryan (Jackie) Bush and their children, Sadie, Morgan and Ricky; Bobbi Jo Bush and her children Tommy and Tikka; step-sisters: Roberta and Janice; brother-in-law Ron "Sparky" Johnson; cousin and brother from another mother Norman Nelson; furry companion Nala and numerous family and friends.
