Robert J. Hanson

Robert "Bob" J. Hanson, 87, Orr, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay.

Bob was born on May 30, 1927 in Stillwater, MN. He grew up in Stillwater and Somerset, WI. He proudly served in the Navy in the Korean War. He lived in North St. Paul for many years where he was employed with the Ramsey County Nursing Home.
He had property in Orr, where he later moved. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Orr where he served on the council. Bob was a member of VFW in North St. Paul and a dedicated member of Orr American Legion, where he served as Commander, led the funeral honor guard, and served in many other capacities.
Bob was a fun loving guy who liked to surround himself with friends—and he had many. He loved going to Alaska hunting and fishing with his son Dave, who lived there.
Bob is survived by his children: John (Kathleen) Hanson of Mpls, Dave (Diane) Hanson of Wasilla, AK., Larry (Maureen) Hanson of Centerville, MN, and Kathleen (Earl) Jeanson of Lake Elmo, MN; 7 Grandchildren, 5great-grandchildren 2 sisters: Mary Lou (Dave) Arnold of Necedah, WI and Carol Jean (Allen) Pape of New Richmond, WI;

Services: A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Orr American Legion Hall, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Joey "pj" Bailey will be the officiant. Arrangements are with the Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
