Rosalie "Lee" M. Konen
Rosalie "Lee" Marie Konen, 74, of Kabetogama Township, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, December 30, 2016, in Anoka.
She was born on June 3, 1942, in Kensal, North Dakota the daughter of Joseph and
Clara (Nogosek) Miemietz. She moved with her family to a dairy farm in Elk River in 1949. Lee graduated from Anoka High School and the Minneapolis School of Business.
She was employed as a key punch for IBM and was as a secretary for the head office at
Fleischman's in Northeast Minneapolis. Rosalie enriched her life in various jobs, such as- running a clip machine at Twin City Arsenal, a 2nd driver on a semi, bartended, waitresses and was a cook. She has resided in the Kabetogama area since 1980 and was affiliated with
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in the Falls. Even after her heart attack her work ethic continued in her doing resort cleaning, and her Catholic faith sustained her throughout her health concerns.
Her passions were gardening, knitting, and crocheting. Lee made numerous craft items as gifts, along with canned good from her garden. She was also helpful to others, and graciously looked out for her family and friends.
Lee was active in the community and was a member of many clubs, including the
Homemakers Club and a 20 year member of the snowmobile club, of which she served as secretary.
Lee lovingly wrote that her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life, and she cherished them and that she was so lucky to be blessed with them, and the many memories they shared.
Rosalie will be dearly missed by family and all who came to know her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death a brother, Robert Miemietz; and her dearest companion of 32 years, William Morgan in 1996.
Rosalie is survived by 1 daughter, Dawn (Marty) Ritchie of Anoka, MN; 3 sons, Raymond (Dodie) Konen Jr. of Oldsmar, FL, Dean (Laurie) Konen of Anoka, MN and Tony (Denise) Konen of North Branch, MN; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 1 brother, Philip (Sandy) Miemietz of Ramsey, MN; and many dear friends.
SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, (Jan. 9th), at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Int'l Falls, where visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A Rosary will be led at the start of the visitation. Fr. Ben Hadrich will be the celebrant. A reception will follow the service in the church social hall after the service. Interment will be in the Kabetogama Cemetery. Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
