OBITUARY FOR SHARAN IRENE WOOSTER GUINN

Sharan Irene Guinn entered into heaven on Tuesday, May 16, 2022, with her family by her side.

Sharan was born on June 25, 1946, in Hibbing, Minnesota. She graduated from Bigfork High School in 1964 and married Steven Guinn in 1966. She attended Loretta Heights College in Denver, Colorado where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society of Nursing celebrating excellence in liberal arts and science. Steve was a great support for her during college as he typed her papers (and that was before word processing). Way to go Steve!

She loved working in the OR for many years and eventually transferred to the Recovery Room. Steve was serving in the United States Air Force for 20 years and then joined Martin Marietta (Lockheed Martin). Under that employment, Steve and Sharan were transferred to many places in the United States, including Hawaii. With her background and experience she always landed a new position within days of making the move.  She loved interacting with her patients and the opportunity to share her knowledge of the surgical procedure to diagram what the surgery entailed and how to best make a rapid recovery and overcome the pain. She was a bright light in the recovery room and loved to bring smiles and laughter to the patients who were going through a difficult time.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert, Eric (Beth) and Jason; by her brothers Warren (Sue), George (Adeline), Daniel (Colleen), Patrick (Pam); and her sisters Sandra (Keith) and Donna (Don). Also, eight grandchildren: Tyler (Sunni), Megan (Jason), Lexi, Brody, Danielle (Tyler), Dustin (Shallina), Chelsea (Evan), and Austin (Danielle). She has 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father Violet and Merlyn; her sister Christine (Bruce) her niece Michelle (Bruce), her daughter-in-law Kyla (Jason), her brother-in-law Jerry (Sandra), and her brother Robert.

There will be a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Bear River Lutheran Church in Bear River, Minnesota. Lunch will follow the service and internment after the lunch.
