Sheri Sawatzky, age 60 of Cook, MN died June 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sheri was born February 6,1964 to Jerry and Shirley Olson in Rice Lake, WI. Sheri graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1982 and then attended UW Stout. Sheri worked for 3M in the Twin Cities as a mechanical engineer for many years. Sheri was married to Dan Stoffregen in 1986 and they lived in River Falls, WI.
After Dan's untimely death in 1998, Sheri continued to live in River Falls. Sheri's friends introduced her to the Northwoods of Minnesota where she met Lauren (Bubba). Sheri and Bubba were married on January 22, 2004. They lived on Lake Vermillion in Cook, MN and wintered in Lake Havasu, AZ.
Sheri started her own business designing and inspecting septic systems. She earned an advanced septic designer license from the State of MN and was highly respected by contractors and customers.
Sheri loved the outdoors; from running 5ks and ½ marathons, to tending to her flowers. Her hobbies included golfing, hiking and UTVing with friends and family, playing pickleball or just reading while Bubba fished from the pontoon boat in Canada.
She is survived by her husband, Lauren (Bubba), her mother, Shirley Olson of Rice Lake, WI, brother Jeff (Laurie) of Rice Lake, WI, sister Robin (Jim) Nelson of Richland Center, WI as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends from all around the country.
Sheri was preceded in death by her first husband, Dan Stoffregen, and her father, Jerry Olson.
A celebration of Sheri's life will be held June 28th at Camp Vermillion, Cook MN. The visitation will be from 2 pm to 3 pm with a service at 3 pm followed by a meal.
