Taryn Lynell Lindquist, 65, of Cook, MN passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, after three weeks in ICU at St. Mary's Essentia Health, Duluth, MN.
She was born April 13, 1959 in Bellingham, Washington to Reynold Wm Lindquist and Goldie Anne (Benson) Lindquist (Knapp). Following the death of her father in 1961, her mother remarried to Chuck Knapp in 1963. The family moved to Cook, Minnesota where Taryn graduated from Cook High School in 1977. She then attended and graduated from Eveleth Area Vocational Technical Institute in 1978. Among her many jobs throughout her life, Taryn Worked for Vermilion Home Health Care in Cook, MN. Later, she attended and graduated from Brown Institute in Minneapolis where she earned her license in radio. She was an on-air personality at WEVE, WHLB and WMFG on the Iron Range in Minnesota. She later moved to Thief River Falls where she assisted her brother Jon in building snowmobile voltage regulators. She eventually moved back to Cook, MN to be caregiver to her step-dad, Chuck Knapp until he passed away in 2006. She continued to work and to be here mother's best friend, companion and caregiver until Goldie's family and to move her in to the Cook Care Center in 2019 where the family faithfully visited in spite of Covid restrictions. Sadly she died in 2020.
Taryn had a large circle of friends that valued her sense of humor and fun-loving ways. Her family loved her dearly and repeatedly told her she should pursue a writing career. She had a gift that so many got to enjoy. Her nephews would ask her to "be funny auntie!", and she did!
Taryn was preceded in death by her father and mother; brother Ross; step-father; and all of her aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her brother Jon (Judy) Lindquist; sisters: Shireen (Garry) Schultz and Tania (Ben) Wilkin; brother Brian (Deb) Knapp; sister-in-law Suzanne Lindquist; eight nephews; two great-nieces, one great-nephew; numerous cousins and friends; and her beloved dog, Nixxy.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date and will be announced.
