Thomas "Tom" Leo Morin, 65, Shelton, WA, former long-time resident of International Falls, MN., passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018.
Tom was born to Leo and Rose (Lablanc) Morin on March 1, 1953 in International Falls, MN. Tom grew up and attended school in International Falls; graduating Falls High School in 1970. He was united in marriage to Laura Qualley on June 23, 1973 in International Falls, MN. Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 31, 1972. While in the Air Force, he served as an aircraft mechanic. He was awarded the National Defense Medal for his service during the Vietnam War. Tom served his country honorably and was released from active duty in 1976.
Tom was a passionate outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and just spending time in the woods. He also enjoyed four-wheeling with his friends and family. Tom liked to stay busy and his hobby was looking for projects to work on. In his spare time, his favorite place to go was to the Lucky Dog Casino. Tom's family remembers how Christmas time was his favorite time of year. Tom loved his children and grandchildren and anytime spent with them was truly cherished.
Tom was preceded in death by his father Leo; and his grandparents: Martin and Jenny (Scholler) Morin and Amy LaBlanc.
Tom is survived by his mother Rose Morin of Internationals Falls, MN; his wife Laura Morin of Shelton, WA; his daughter Deborah Morin of Shelton, WA; son Tom Jr. Morin of Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren: Kalob Morin, Jordan Zukawski, and Lily Morin; brothers: Albert (Darlene) Morin; Gary (Patty) Morin; and Greg (Jolynn) Morin; sisters: Diane (Harlan) Olson; Jean (Abbas) Alkhazrajy; Darlene (Richard) Ditsch; Paulette (Brad) Bakke; Kelly Morin; and Sheila (Rick) Beck; brothers-in-law: Conrad (Olivia); Chris (Glennda); Brad (Etta); sisters-in-law: Karla; Glenda (Mike); Karen; Cathy (Merlin); Brenda (Roy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11:00AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, International Falls, MN. Military Honors will be accorded by the Internationals Falls VFW Post 2948 Honor Guard.To leave an online condolence visit www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
