Obituary

Trevor J. Reichel

Trevor John Reichel, 19, of Cook, Lake Vermilion, died on Friday, November 13, 2015 the result of a tragic accident. He was born on July 24, 1996 in Hibbing.
Trevor was a graduate of the North Woods High School Class of 2014 and was an active participant in sports starting with T-ball at the age of four. Trevor started his career working at Timbuktu Marina on Lake Vermilion at the age of 11, doing odd jobs at a place close to home. He continued to work there every summer and it was there that he was currently employed. In the fall of 2014, he attended Northland Community College in East Grand Forks where he earned his EMT certification.
Trevor was at his happiest when he was outdoors, especially boating or fishing on Lake Vermilion. He knew the lake well and could easily navigate from one end to the other and all the bays in between. He loved to snowmobile and was an accomplished rider, spending time in the mountains of Montana and water skips on Lake Vermilion.
He was a compassionate person who was quick with a smile and a soul that could sense when someone needed encouragement or a kind word. He was witty, kind, handsome, and could cradle his baby nephew in his arms as easily as he could carry a heavy load. He lived, and truly enjoyed, every day of his life.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dick Reichel, and an uncle Marty Reichel.
Trevor is survived by his parents, Fred and Kirsten, his brother Karl, and nephew Konnor Isham-Reichel, all of Cook; his paternal grandmother, Shirley Reichel of Cook; maternal grandparents Pam and Bob Roederer of Green Valley, AZ, and Bob and Linda Coale of San Diego, CA; aunts Kathy O'Keefe and Sandi Bialke of Columbus, Ohio and their families; and an uncle Doug Coale of Santa Barbara, CA. He leaves behind many family members, countless friends, and his faithful dog companion, Lulu. He touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed by all.
